NSCA Rules
The following rule changes went into effect 1/1/2011:
Rule IV-J-1-a-i: On a single target (full use of the gun): If the target is missed with the first shot and an ammo or gun malfunction occurs, preventing the second shot from being fired, the target will be re-attempted. The shooter must intentionally miss the target on the first shot. The second shot will count for either dead or lost. If the shooter breaks the first target on the first shot in this scenario the target will be scored as lost.
Rule I-C-2-f: Registered Targets. Advisory Council members are required to have shot a minimum of 500 registered targets each year, including the year immediately preceding their year of election. This requirement must be fulfilled by participation at registered tournaments, not league or monthly targets.
RuleIV-B-3-e: To be eligible for class prizes, monies and/or awards at State Shoots, a shooter must have shot a minimum of 300 registered targets in the current year, prior to the shoot. League and monthly targets no longer count towards Penalty Class minimums.
RuleIV-B-4-c: To be eligible for class prizes, monies and/or awards at Zone Shoots, a shooter must have shot a minimum of 300 registered targets in the current year, prior to the shoot. League and monthly targets no longer count towards Penalty Class minimums.
RuleIV-B-5-c: To be eligible for open, class and/or concurrent prizes, monies and/or awards at the US Open, a shooter must have shot a minimum of 500 registered targets in the current year, prior to the US Open. League and monthly targets no longer count towards Penalty Class minimums.
RuleIV-B-6-b: To be eligible for open, class and/or concurrent prizes, monies and/or awards at the Nationals Championship, a shooter must have shot a minimum of 500 registered targets in the current year, prior to the Nationals. League and monthly targets no longer count towards Penalty Class minimums.
Rule IV-f-6: Multiple events (12 gauge, small gauges, Side by Side, Pump, etc.) may be held on the same course. If a single course is used for multiple events, shooters must have a significantly different presentation of targets for each event. This can be achieved by varying some combination of shooting location, trap setup and orientation, order of targets, or type of presentation (single, report, true, or following pair.” Station Example (using two traps): 20ga – A-B True, 28ga – A on report B, .410 - B on report A Station Example (using three traps): 12ga – A-C true, 20 ga – B-C true, 28 ga- B on report A, .410 – C on report B, S x S – A-B true, Pump – A on report B.
